Reclaimed Books Made into Flowers and Then Into Beautiful Note Cards

I crafted these flowers from old books we had in the family!  With a quilling tool and my friend glue dots these beautiful note cards could be for any occasion you can imagine.

Feeling a Little Monday Night Inspiration

After a long day at the 9-5 job I was feeling a little Monday Night Inspiration and a longing for a vacation.  Palm trees and my favorite stamp helped me create these beautiful cards.  Father's day is just around the corner and with a Happy Father's Day Sentiment created inside you could thank you Dad for taking you all sorts of different places.  The traditional fishing card for Dad with a modern twist was also part of the creative explosion.

Handmade Flowers Grace My New Cards for This Week

A few weeks ago I attended an expo where I learned how to make beautiful handmade flowers from variety of materials!  Materials used in making the orange flower include crate paper, Tim Holtz Distressing Ink, Banana Paper and wired burlap rope.

The main inspiration was a company named Mona Mi Gabby!
The owner was amazing and super sweet as well.

I have taken these ideas and placed them on the
front of my cards and they are just beautiful!

They can be purchased at Lana Bug Designs on Etsy, but here they are!

Reclaimed Styrofoam - Follow Up on Stumble Upon Idea Found Last Month

I had found this really great idea on stumble upon and posted the idea last month.  Today I was able to take that idea and turn it into some pretty cool looking stamps that I will later make into card products.

Conclusions:
Foam from take out containers works best!
Glue and Glitter Idea did not work very well at all!
Foam from mushroom containers did not work!
Best results, were free style art combined with Tim Holtz Crackle Paint!

Best Result included the use of Tim Holtz crackle paint, a traced drawing of bird cages and white card stock!

Blue Styrofoam did not work well as it left the tiny dot accents on the paper when stamped.

Free hand worked best, embossing plates left a lot to be desired as
far as how easy it was to imprint the foam.

Bird cage image printed onto copy paper and then traced over with embossing tool.

Once stamped the cages came out beautiful.  The first one was always the best as I later found out!

I started using the embossing plates and copied images because I lacked faith in my own drawing ability, but it was my free hand flowers that turned out to be my personal favorite!

Stay tuned for the card creations I make from this amazing idea!
